I'm starting a small..Really small design business, Where can I get cheap web hosting with domain name and EM?

EM= email. I effort as a graphic designer for a company, but I'm starting up a company to handle smaller jobs like web block out, logo design fliers, etc. (my boss doesn't mind, since the company doesn't manage that) What are some recommended cheap web hosting with domain names and email?
I run several to some degree sized sites, with a few thousand visitors a day each.
I therefore recommend and personally use: (been using for 2 ears now)

They have far-reaching space and transfer.
They give you a free domain for life.
They have php and mysql if you ever use those.
You can also add as many domains (.com, .net, ...) as you like so you can have many contrastive sites for 1 hosting price.
They also give you free $50 Google Credits for advertising your milieu.

Where do I go to register a cheap domain name without hosting? I want to secure the name while its available?

When I do a search, essentially I end up with a hosting company. I haven't decided on a host yet but I want to secure the domain name while I can. Its my understanding that if you get a rid domain with a host. That it basicaly belongs to the host. If you decide you want to go somewhere esle you can't take the name with you. I am also looking into having a ecommerce place designed. Thought I would try a freelance designer thinking I could keep the price reasonable. Any tips?

What are the steps convoluted. and what's the cheapest I can pull it off? I'm using my school server right now to host it, but is there any way to use that in conjunction with the new domain name? And how cheap could I get it if I purchased a hosting coupled?

After you get that done, and pay for it, it will give you your login info via the email that you provided. Unbelievably steady huh? What you do with your domain after that is up to you.
