I necessary to start Web hosting on commercial basis. So do I need any kind of license from any one (like government) to start my role of web hosting? Or I just need the software licenses and nothing more?
Well if you need to launch your own website which will have your own machine as the data server then you certainly need an sui generis IP address for your site.And for that you will have to buy two years validity contract from WWW for launching it.That will be the license itself.And of class you'll have to abide by the IT rules of e-business.

Why would commercial web hosting companies make Free web hosting? I do know most of them place adverts on the website they are hosting for free. What other benefits do the ones that do not cut down to size adverts gain for free hosting?

Also they get a ton of traffic to their biggest domain name which is one of the main things if they are looking to sell the site in future. I employed to be a computer programmer and have worked on web sites but have never designed and build a complete site. I have a shopper who wants an e-commerce site.
