I'm looking into hosting my own website in the UK, however I don't prerequisite dedicated or shared hosting, I'm looking into finding a provider where I can use to host my own physical severs, basically a provider who gives latitude and bandwidth for my servers to use rather than using its own servers. Does this exist?
Of routine. Call your Internet Service provider to give you a FIXED IP address.
Let's work out the math. Let's say tha you buy a Unchanging IP address and it costs $100 per month. Don't expect it to be cheap.
Then consider the indeed nice Server that you buy. Let's say that you go with a medium budget and spend $1000 for the computer. Of progress, if you go LINUX, that software will be free, but Windows 2003 Server will cost you around $1,000.
With your own server, that means BACKUPS and other support. If you go Windows, that means that you need added security. Obviously, I favour LINUX as your operating system...Hey, but I don't have a clue what you want to do.
Now look at a RENTED shared hosting: Further low priced service, but shared server and shared SSL certificate. This works, but it you are not alone. Unmistakeably, you would MOVE to other services if you exeedd the monthly bandwidth limit regularly. Take a close look at http://www.ipowerweb.com at their LINUX server services. This is under $50 per YEAR, extra Domain Name(s).
If you are planning multiple websites and want individual website SSL certificate, then go with Throng Gator. See http://www.hostgator.com
Again, this is under $60 per YEAR, plus $75 for SSL.
The lop off maintenance costs of rented hosting is well worth the hassle of being able to say "I do it myself".

I am starting up an online payment processing associates like PayPal. I wanna know which option to go with. Dedicated or Shared hosting? A well-mannered dedicated server is more expensive.
Shared hosting can be slow if others are taking the bandwidth.
It's up to you but if a site is effective to VERY busy then shared hosting is out of the question.

I have been shopping around for a web hosting and dedicated server provider for an online regatta being developed. But my brain is beginning to hurt as they all claim to be the cheapest/best! My contemporary hosting company does not provide MySQL/PHP database support nor does it have a forum pattern, both things I need. I'm not too fussed on the price and in my opinion, word of mouth as usual works best, so does anyone have first hand experience of some good hosting companies that also furnish dedicated servers? I am based in the UK.
