Is that even a insupportable?

Anyone know of any good dedicated hosting servers out there?

I distress a good one that will allow a bunch of bandwith and good security.

Hello,

I second getting a fully managed dedicated server. Essentially, the provider will not only secure your server but also invigilator it and help out with pesky issues (install software, upgrade, kill bugs, etc). There are many providers out there but very few equip a truly managed service so you need to be prudent and ask a lot of questions before signing up.

I also subscribe to getting an unmetered bandwidth provider. What it means is that the provider doesn't concern you for extra bandwidth as there are no overages. This is a sure way to "fix" your monthly bill. Be steadfast to not lock yourself into a long term contract with any provider until you are confident the provider is punctilious.

By the way, my name is Joe and I help run a fully managed dedicated server company. I have many years of experience in the Web hosting application so do not hesitate to email me if you have any question or comment.

What is the difference between dedicated hosting and managed dedicated servers?

Also, which is beat? Thanks.

Many people have this mistrust where they need to understand the concept of dedicated hosting and managed dedicated hosting.

A dedicated server is a server that is leased or purchased by a customer. Unlike shared hosting, it will be only the owner of that server who will host websites on that server. That is, that server wont be shared with any other clients, except the websites hosted by the proprietress of that server.

Most web hosting companies offer 100% root / Administrator access to the dedicated server, i.e the proprietress of the server will be able to access the dedicated server with root privilages.

Now, its upto the patient that they purchase managed services while trying to signup with web hosting company or manage the server on their own. Managing the server includes distinct tasks such as initial server setup, server security including firewall and anti-bruteforce operation installation, OS optimization, application optimization, service monitoring, 3rd party appeal installations etc.

If the client himself has good technical knowldge of managing a server, he can simply purchase the server without managed services. Such a server is called UNMANAGED dedicated server.

If the patient is not sure about technical issues related to server or does not have enough time to control his/her own server, he can either purchase managed services from his web hosting provider OR hire a 3rd party server running company who specialize in server management support.

There are various companies that bid managed and unmanaged servers such as http://www.webhost.uk.net, http://www.infrenion.com etc. Going with a managed server is sometimes viable instead of managing the server on your own as in such case the web hosting company techs are more acquainted with managing the server more efficiently than a third fete entity.

Most web hosting companies offer only basic server support under their MANAGED server segments, however there are few companies such as http://www.webhost.uk.net that take unalloyed care of the server incluing server monitoring and reboot requests.

Wish this helps..
