Feb 26, 2009 by ljoh832266 | Posted in Yahoo! Web Hosting
I have a website through Yahoo Web Hosting. I will be changing the name of my plc in May, 2009. My domain name is the current name of my company. How can I change the domain name and keep the site up and running?
Depending on how Yahoo set up the hosting, a moment ago put your website files into the new directory of your new domain name. It's a very easy thing and contacting Yahoo for unique to directions would probably be your best bet.

Where is the best place to get web hosting and a domain name?
Oct 24, 2008 by Whywhywhy | Posted in Programming & Design
what is the unsurpassed place to get web hosting, domain name that has the best website templates that are easy to set up, and also is very affordable.
► Startlogic is hellishly affordable (like $5 a month with yearly plan) and has unlimited domain hosting. You can do all in one there, domains, hosting case, unlimited bandwidth... to compare hosts I would use http://www.interkeys.com/tophosts to get one for a few bucks a month with uncontrolled GIG bandwidth and the rich with features
its up to you how developed a site you want and if you want to use your own domain name

What is the difference between a domain name and web hosting?
Jul 10, 2007 by gorjusgirl | Posted in Programming & Design
I want to get my own website up and match, so I went to look at prices around the place... I found a good site which has domain names at $11/year, but I'm confusing myself because I'm not undeviating of the difference between a domain name and web hosting - I want quite a lot of space, and I will use Frontpage to make my site because that also has an upload ease attached, so I just need the domain name right?
However, I cant see anything about how much space I get when I buy a domain name, so this makes me think I constraint to get web hosting.... please help!!
Thanks :)
I'm still confused - so if it says Domain Names $11 and then Web Hosting $164.50, do I deprivation both? Or can I just buy a Domain Name and use Frontpage to upload my pages to that name? Sorry... I can be a bit thick sometimes...
Go to "https://www.godaddy.com" you can get both for $8.95 a year and tone down. Depending on what you want and need. They support Frontpage.
A domain name works like an hail forwarding service.
All of your Web site content sits on a computer with a unique address. This is called an IP talk to. An IP address is made up of a series of numbers, such as 123.23.234.45. Your domain name directs visitors to your site using this IP talk.
We use domain names instead of IP addresses because most people find it easier to remember a name rather than a series of numbers.
In brotherhood to choose the right hosting plan, you’ll need to consider a few things:
Design
How was your Web plat designed? For example, if you designed an ASP or ASP.NET Web site, you'll need to find a Windows hosting plan. If you have a Web position that uses CGI or PHP, you'll need to get a Linux hosting plan.
Traffic
How much traffic or how many visitors do you presume monthly? The more visitors or traffic you expect on your site, the higher the bandwidth you will stress.
Size
How large is your site? If you're planning on having a large site with a lot of multimedia thesis, you'll probably need additional disk space.
Hope this helps.
