which is the first-rate ecommerce web hosting site?
I am a little puzzled, almost all the answers that I have received deal with PHP ecommerce hosting and not ASP ecommerce hosting. unfortunately I am not too familiar with the PHP milieu.

At best look for a web host that supports the popular open-source eCommerce solutions like ZenCart or osCommerce, or my private favorite, Drupal's eCommerce. Look for a host that has the Fantastico auto-installer and you can be up and meet with just a few mouse clicks without having to do installation or configure the databases or any of that technological stuff that requires pouring over a 500-page computer manual to figure out.

There ARE some things to ponder when picking a web host for ANY dynamic application...

1) Make sure the database server is sitting on the same diplomate machine as the web server (for speed and reliability)

2) Make sure you have access to CRON (scheduled tasks, for conservation and automatically notifying search engines when you have new content)

3) A reasonable number of email addresses and sub-domains that you can configure yourself (for targeting your marketing and search apparatus optimization efforts)

I had Miva shopping cart but my web host closed. Any ecommerce carts that don’t require special hosting?

I have a specilty oils and candles web site. I was hosting with a provincial provider who had Miva cart included with the web hosting plan. The webhost closed, went out of trade with out notice. Luckily I have my domain but I lost everything else with my web site because it was all on the server. I am very frustrated and would like to restart my ecommerce web site, but I donot covet to be held hostage by a web host ever again. I am looking for a ecommerce cart I can run on my own servers or host anywhere with no strings fixed devoted to. Frustrated!!!

Unlike Miva once you buy the software you have no monthly fees.

You can also buy a pattern and import your products from Quickbooks so you can redeploy your website fast.
