Using image hosting sites to save bandwidth?
Jun 24, 2009 by bellamire29 | Posted in Programming & Design
I'm looking into making a website but it's a graphics site which i would fundamental to upload MANY pictures. I'm looking into a way to save bandwidth and i was wondering if I put all my images onto the site via HTML from photobucket, would that use any of my web hosting's bandwidth?
PhotoBucket will apace shut down any image which is being requested too much as you do have bandwidth allowances on their site. Excessive use will cause your account to be closed. Every browser viewing your pages will send an http refer request to PhotoBucket for your images.
First-rate to buy a hosting package that allows you sufficient bandwidth for your type of site.

Does using imageshack/other hosting service decrease bandwidth usage on my site?

You be sure... linking an image to the site instead of hosting it myself, will it reduce the massive bandwidth practice? And what about music and youtube vids? (can someone recommend a good music host that works with freewebs?)
Yes, hosting photos, videos, and music remotely will drastically curtail bandwidth usage. Simple text uses hardly any bandwidth at all; it's the images that really getcha. Youtube videos can be embedded into a web bellhop. For music, you can either use Youtube or just google around for a free music hosting/uploading website.
