I have had an MSN Groups plat up for many years which has always shown up in the first page of Google when searching for subject and names joint to the site. I transferred the site over to Multiply, but the search engines do NOT respond!

Is there any free or very penny-pinching hosting that has good search engine recognition? I realize content is key to this, but in my experience, the host also plays a significant role.

Will hosting my website on a US based server damage its search engine rankings for people in the UK?

Hi,
my website is aimed at the European and UK store. I am considering hosting it with a US webhost, mainly for reasons of cost and quality of service. Will doing so wrong my search engine rankings for people searching from the UK and Europe?

No, it would only have a slight influence. A lot more important are standard SEO practices, like title tags, headers, website emulate, link building. If you're worried about it, you could do a search on some of the keywords you're interested in and see what hosting your competitors use. Ok I’m about to start a search machine website that will have 100's of millions of websites listed on it and I have not decided whether or not I need my own servers of if i should go through a hosting services such as CDW, and if I should get my own servers how many should I get and what humanitarian would be best for this project?
