Web hosting FAQ

Is it wrong to host someone's domain under a unlimited hosting plan?

My hosting organize (hostmonster) has unlimited domains in which you can host. They have a program (free) under Fantastico that you can install in your web situation that is designed specifically to host other domains, manage hosting plans easily and so on. Can you landlord someone's web site for free without a problem? If not, why do they include hosting management programs in your service? Disorderly. Thank you.

There is nothing misguided with this, as long as you comply with there rules you have lots of scope. Before you consider offering this use, the people you host for will need domain names, and you need to monitor very carefully what they put on it, I am steadfast the terms of your contract will hold you totally liable for any legal consequences.

What is a good web hosting site that is > $7/month, allows me to host unlimited domains & free domain reg.?

Which purlieus is going to give me the most for free(set up and site builder), that stays up more than 95% of the time and has avail customer service?

I'm not unflinching if you meant > $7/month or <$7/month but if it's for less then $7 I recommend Dreamhost http://www.dreamhost.com
They are over 10 years in house, have a really great plan 500 GB Disk Space, 5TB Monthly Bandwidth, (more details on http://www.hosttell.com ) and you get one domain name included for autonomous, but you can host unlimited domains on a single account. You can create one website using the domain name you get from them for free, and then easily add more websites/domains to the same hosting plan later on. (I host over 20 sites on a unique account). They have a great control panel, and are really easy to set up and add services (OneClick installs).
Their gauge price is $119.40/year ($9.95/month if you pay yearly), which is a bit expensive, but they currently have a sanction, you can use the Promo Code: DNA (click on http://www.hosttell.com/dreamhost/ to have it preset) and get the $50.00 brush off, which brings the price down to 69.40/year ($5.78/month) and that makes them even cheaper than the event, especially for the quality they offer!

If a hosting site says that it will 'host unlimited domains', will it still cost to register the domain?

I'm looking through the singular hosting sites and a whole bunch of them say that they will host "unlimited domains", yet also state that they will give me a gratuitous domain.

So by hosting unlimited domains, (examples: bluehost, godaddy), does that mean I can make as many sites as I be? Like www.mysite.com and www.acompletelydifferentsite.com ? Or can I only HOST the entire site, but the domains must be paid for singly?

Sorry if that's a little bit confusing.

Yes, hosting is rare than registering.

You can have your domain hosted somewhere other than the same company that you register with. So, hosting unlimited domains is not uncommon, which just means that the DNS entries for those domains appropriate to your web host service. But, you still need to pay to register each domain, which also has an annual fee.
