Whats the difference between Linux web hosting and Windows web hosting?

Heya Please say em what the difference is between linux web hosting and windows web hosting. I made my site by dreamweaver does that affect either of the 2 i should settle upon please tell me thanx!

Windows and Linux often use two original web server applications. Windows sites use the Windows IIS server, while nearly all Linux sites use Apache.

I have Qwest internet, and I need to know if there is a way that I can get web hosting from them. Otherwise, does anyone know of any sites that are relatively inexpensive and effective for web hosting?

I made a well-drawn design web site in dreamweaver and now I want a web hosting site for it. What would be the best one to get. I don't need any paypal capabilities. I only desperate straits one domain, but I will need alot of other pages as I have alot of artwork.
