Web hosting FAQ

hosting...?

Hello, I have a yen for to know would it be ok to sell hosting of of the 1and1 Business package? I looked through their TOS and I didn't see anything... Also is it viable to do it with my Cpanel? (and protect my site's files) ..Thanks - Colin

You can resell 1&1 via their affiliates program.

If 1&1 allows you to host multiple domains and multiple FTP users, and you're au fait enough to be able to keep others from figuring out how to log in to the panel and deal only with their own FTP, then I see nothing in the 1&1 TOS that prevents you from charging others to use your Web space.

How would you feel about hosting a foreign exchange student in your home?

I am directing this matter not only at Americans but at all nationalities who might read the question and have thoughts about the subject.

This year my relations is hosting two students, one from Germany and one from Hong Kong, both girls. In the past we have hosted two boys from Germany, one boy from Korea, and one female each from Germany and Hong Kong. This is our third full year to host, and we also hosted for a partial year.

Our son was a strange exchange student in Germany for a year.

We have had exceptional kids to work with. The experiences have been unlikely and we are connected to all of our past and present kids.

Would you consider hosting a child from a foreign soil?
I'm not recruiting, although my wife is coordinating placements and trying to recruit families in our provincial area. (South Texas.)

I was just interested in seeing what assort of response I would get from the Yahoo! Answers community. I expected some people to respond as you have, and I also expected some to say "no way," and others to just be curious about the programs.

From experience I can tell you that if you like young people and take interacting with other cultures it is an experience difficult to match other than by doing a lot of traveling on your own.

I'm on my 13th! Our first just as an new chum family. I have four Danes, three Germans, two Swedes, two Swiss, one Finn and one Brasilian!
As you can confirm, we love it. We've also had exceptional students to work with as well ... and we wouldn't trade any of them!
To top it all off, we finished our 25th anniversary on a three-week tour of Europe visiting many of them!
Hosting not only gives you a new son or daughter, but it gives you a whole new next of kin as well!
The one thing that concerns me about your question however, is that it ALMOST seems like a recruitment of host families. I'm inevitable you really didn't mean it that way, but I certainly would NOT be looking for families for students on the Internet!
Congratulations on your global family!

What software and hosting do I need to start an online community site where people can post articles or music?

What software and hosting do I penury to start an online community site where people can post articles or music?

I'd like to start an online situate like ezinearticles or other article posting site. What host and/or what software is required?
Also, I'd like to start an online place for musicians to post their songs and blogs.
What hosts do you recommend and what software or program for these? Thanks.
To clear up - I want to open a large site 1 - offering members a on the house webpage and the ability to submit many articles each, photos, and comments, etc., like ezinearticles.com or those others.

Also, for another position, 2 - I'd like to open a music site, where music artists can upload their own songs, videos and info, blogs, etc. tattle on music maybe, promote, add photos, and so on.

I'd like for each site to have all the modern features - is this a joomla placement, I'm wondering? (Post nuke wouldn't work for this, I'm told and not a wiki either, but I'd like to use an persuadable source or a cheap, but reliable way to do this.)

Usually a host or server must be pretty on the loose, depending upon the numbers. Upgrades are, of course, inevitable though.

Will I need a server of my own? Will I be masterful just to pay the host, get a software program, download one, like joomla or what ?
Any info on this? Thanks.
None of the hosting places suggested so far do anything of this charitable.

Does Joomla ?
Does anyone know of any program, platform, or hosting place where I can go to start sites likes this?
Thanks again.
