Do you have any tolerable or bad experience with 1 And 1 web hosting service?
I tried them out fleetingly a few years ago and found the following problems then:
1. If you have a .com domain, the nameservers for 1&1 are not in the UK and so you are unlikely to find yourself in the Google UK limited search results.
2. They tagged mail rather than filtered it, meaning that if you download dispatch on your phone, you still have to pay to download the spam.
3. You couldn't pay by direct debit.
4. The quality of their English was modest (customer support)
5. Leaving the service was a loathsome and difficult process.
I switched to www.xcalibre.co.uk and have no complaints.

What is unique about an internet service provider. What would I have to have inorder to host my own internet service?
