I am looking to start a website for my diagrammatic design portfolio. What is a good web hosting service that allows me to pick the domain name, is not too valuable, is easy to use, supports lots of images, and is MAC COMPATIBLE. I started with this place homestead which would have been suitable but they do not support macs. Any ideas?
I can't dream up why a web host would say they don't support Macs. That's impossible.
Personally, I use GoDaddy for their excellent mix of premium, storage, bandwidth, and option to have your sites hosted on a Linux server in lieu of of Windows. The GoDaddy user interface sucks, but you only need to use it for a few minutes to set up and then you can upstanding do everything via FTP.
The Apple option MobileMe just ain't worth it. It doesn't even support PHP, ignore MySQL and all the other advanced features you can get from a real web host.
