When you change merchant solution providers (web hosting), does your page rank reset?
Jul 09, 2007 by HipMama | Posted in Search Engine Optimization
I shortage to find a new web hosting provider and/or shopping cart service that allows my online store to stomach payments in Canadian funds. If I change my web hosting company as well as my shopping cart provider will my folio rank start from the beginning? Thanks! :)
My m has an online commerce site and when we switched from Microsoft BCentral as our host to another suite out of Georgia out page ranks plummeted! We were in the top 5 on Google and Yahoo and it took about 2 weeks to optimize the new put and get our rankings back. We did not change anything drastically on the page, just some of the text and the look (color technique, layout) of the site. We got a shopping cart that was much easier to use and had lots of other features like coupon codes and wish lists. And from my intellect the small changes we made actually helped us gain higher rankings after the beginning switch over. Hope this helps! :)

I also would like to trade in on e-bay and use a combination of dropshippers & items from storage unit sales, estate sales etc. I have the everything and capital to get started & I recently attended a seminar (storesonline) that in my opinion was a scam. I could use guidance esp. from someone whose been there and done it. larrylvnv@yahoo.com
Thank You in advance; Larry
Larry,
storesonline is not a scam. However, their products is 10+++ times overpriced and they retail them using a slick marketing approach that tries to build on your dreams and hopes. Many people fail for it.
I did a comprehensive review on them sometime back that you can read on my blog.
There are many other models that you can adopt besides selling on ebay. For eg.
1) Make grow and sell your own product.
2) Affiliate Marketing
3) Blogging.
4) Membership Sites
5) Adsense
Have you considered them carefully?
Many people sort a mistake of spending too much time trying to setup an online store to sales-clerk things. To succeed on the internet, the majority of your time should be spent learning marketing and actively doing it. Only then will you have the highest unpremeditated to succeed.
My advice to you is to take a step back and look at the various options for making capital online before looking for drop shippers, etc.

thanks
I would pore over the terms of service.
If the standard hosting account doesn't permit you to sell any element from that hosting account then you'll have to go either with the merchant account or to get hosting from another provider.

All Hat and No Cattle for PCI-DSS Level 4 Merchant Hosting | The ...
by rgreenhagen
Several of the big names in the hosting and payments affair have released "solutions" that tender PCI-DSS basso-rilievo 'low relief' to Equal 4 merchants (diminutive businesses with everyday affair volumes). Well, after reviewing almost 20 offerings, I can without delay summarize this as "all hat, no bovines." A class of hot air.
One larger hosting provider recommends that merchants fitting don't administer attribute cards. Without a doubt? But what about the MILLIONS of merchants that have expressly-coded shopping carts, ERP systems, and concern POS tools that rely upon the back-end databases that proffer their customer and payment bumf? What about businesses that keep slated matter for frequent payments?
IMHO, these folks are troublesome to extract the bait-n-deflection on a more na (from an IT capabilities angle) guild. 'Hey, horde in our "cloud" and take the place of our recommendations (or at least about you are following them), and you can be PCI-DSS compliant.' Evil, that is PCI-DSS avoidance. Not absolutely an selection for millions of businesses.
These businesses necessary a Palpable PCI-DSS compliant way to economically hostess their systems. We all be familiar with the hoops that a Take, VALIDATED, MANAGED PCI-DSS deciphering will demand. It won't be tight (no more $59 per month hosting with no firewalls!). But, there will be solutions on the merchandise that will champion even the most hearty QSA audit, or even a Truthful, Straight Play fair with 4 SAQ. Shore up tuned for more from GSI!
