We have a Microsoft Windows 2000 Server environs with approximately 8 Windows 2000 servers and 80 workstations.
We are not running Hyperactive Directory or any domain based policies. Its a simple network really. We currently use Position 2003 with POP3 email that is hosted by our ISP.
We want to deploy Microsoft Exchange server so that Outlook 2003 can use more advanced features like calendaring, etc. We necessary to also have Outlook Web Access.
Do we need to convert to active directory, or can I do this without having to change right now?
Please advise ... thank you!
You must have effective directory to use exchange server 2000 or 2003. It is not very difficult to install active directory first of all if you don't plan to use group policies but if you do decide to deploy it I would recommend using a 2003 server as the province controller as there are many improvements to active directory from 2000.

I would like to have my exchange mail server with the name: https://mail.stevenage365.co.uk/exchnage/ but i am using a vital IP address. Can anyone help?

There are DNS services that will let you proprietor a web site or service using a dynamic IP, but because of the way DNS changes propagate you won't get reliable use.

I am using Microsoft Exchange Server 6.5 . We are hosting our own email. About a week ago, one of the employees here said he could not obtain outside mail. He could send mail, and receive mail delivered within the South African private limited company, but he could not reeive mail from an outside source. I did a test by sending him an email from a gmail account, and it automatically bounced back.
Then, on Thursday or Friday of last week, another worker complained about the same problem!
Can anyone think of anything that might be causing this? Any suggestions?

Possibly there is a filter or blocking feature that is turned on? Look at the bounceback email, see if it has any clues.
