If your really bothered about live support then maybe not e-frag, I haven't seen it say "online" before, but im hosting a L4D server with them and its only 60p a position.

Will hosting my website on a US based server damage its search engine rankings for people in the UK?

my website is aimed at the European and UK market. I am taking into consideration hosting it with a US webhost, mainly for reasons of cost and quality of service. Will doing so iniquity my search engine rankings for people searching from the UK and Europe?

No, it would only have a slight influence. A lot more important are standard SEO practices, like title tags, headers, website carbon copy, link building. If you're worried about it, you could do a search on some of the keywords you're interested in and see what hosting your competitors use. (you can use http://www.whoishostingthis.com ) or preferably yet check what is really important, and that is how many backlinks they have. P.S. Since you're from the UK http://www.hosttell.com/one are currently having a soft sell in the UK. They are offering one year of a free hosting and a domain (You have to pay the £9.50 setup fee and that's it). They're a nice preference if you don't need more than 3GB of disk space.

Hosting a UK website on an American server?

I have a .co.uk and a .com website. I host both these locality in America. Someone has advised me that if you are in the UK and search Google it will return all websites hosted in the UK before it lists all other UK sites hosted in other countries.

Does anyone be acquainted with whether this is true and if it is whether there are any ways to get round this please?
