What is the conversion between a shared hosting plan and an in house?

Hi,

Shared hosting would be outsourced to another circle that specifically sold webhosting, this would be a cheap and simple solution to web hosting. In house would drive at that your company ran its own web server, this would most likely need someone employed to maintain it and need to be on a elated speed internet connection, this would be vastly more expensive and in most cases offer very insignificant advantage.

How do I make a shared hosting service on a Windows machine?

Accurate now I have an old IBM computer sitting around with Windows XP Home, 512mb of RAM, 40gb hard drive room, and a Pentium 4 2.4ghz processor. And I was wondering how I would make a small shared hosting service for about 10 friends and myself for unhindered? I have searched all over the internet and have found nothing.

Call a web hosting that would be a ample idea.
Call a remote desktop would be an also good idea.
Call a peer to peer program also healthy idea.
What else you would like to know.

How can I see what other sites are on my shared hosting server?

I have a shared hosting account and I would like to see what other sites are on that server. I comprehend there is a website like that, I've seen it before on Digg, but I cant find it. If anyone knows of that site I'm talking about, that would be matchless!!!!
