what's the difference between Hosting my site on a linux server or windows server?

I have a minor site hosted on Linux in Godaddy but I am doubting if it has any negative effect than hosting on windows?

Linux server is typically more steadfast and cost cheaper.
It come with more features.

Typically people choose Windows server when they necessary to run on script that can only support natively by Windows server, eg asp, aspx.

If you are hosting normal html after, go for Linux.
Linux also support the widely used script called php.

Web Site Hosting service with good squirrel mail option?

Which web site hosting assignment prvoider gives squirel mail option (in it's services) with the latest puff ins of squirrel mail available in it.

I need serious answers only and from people who know what I am talking about.

P.S.: I grasp many web site hosting providers give squirrel mail options but it's so outdated in them that we can't even compose messages in dear text format.

Mistress of ceremonies Monster Plus has squirrel mail, though it doesn't have the rich text redactor. However they have 2 other web mail options as well.

I privation to make my own website, but I want to start small and experimental. I want to use a unencumbered web site host but their are many to choose from. Which is the best place to use, particularly if you want to create a trained looking site?
I know free sites arent totally professional, but I valid want something to play with and start with, but nothing silly.
