Is it possible to host an SQL database server from within the Yahoo webspace environment?
I have an SQL database uninterrupted on my local machine that has a browser interface for viewing the data. Is there somewhere or some way to upload this to my Yahoo webspace (in GeoCities??) that would own me to add and view information in the database from a general internet browser? I guess I'm looking for an SQL hosting server...?
Exclusive of answer NO yahoo will not let you do that. Now they have database services that come with their hosting packages (mysql I think) but you can not access those databases externally. Call yahoo and ask them.
It is not very ardently to set up your own database in your environment.

Are there any web hosting sites that allow you to connect to a SQL Database hosted somewhere else?
I have a database at a fingers on that isn't able to host their own web site. Instead I purchased a hosting plan from a company that I liked and everything worked gargantuan for months.
The hosting site was hacked and they updated their Firewall. Now I can't connect to my database. They said I should have never been superior to, the don't allow connections to external databases.
Where can I go now??
I am working for a client who has a server with an diligence that all their employees use in house. I've made a web app that allows some of their clients to view and/or update specific observations.
I really would rather keep them seperate as I don't want to have to replicate on both sides constantly.
I had a webhost (where I also purchased their realm) and it worked fine, but they tightened their security and no longer allow connections to an extraneous location.
