I have a website through Yahoo Web Hosting. I will be changing the name of my establishment in May, 2009. My domain name is the current name of my company. How can I change the domain name and keep the site up and running?
Depending on how Yahoo set up the hosting, by a hair's breadth put your website files into the new directory of your new domain name. It's a very easy thing and contacting Yahoo for peculiar directions would probably be your best bet.

Oct 24, 2008 by Whywhywhy | Posted in Programming & Design
what is the first-rate place to get web hosting, domain name that has the best website templates that are easy to set up, and also is very affordable.
► Startlogic is bloody affordable (like $5 a month with yearly plan) and has unlimited domain hosting. You can do all in one there, domains, hosting pack, unlimited bandwidth... to compare hosts I would use http://www.interkeys.com/tophosts to get one for a few bucks a month with vast GIG bandwidth and the rich with features
its up to you how developed a site you want and if you want to use your own domain name

what is the different between web hosting & domain name registration?
Jun 25, 2009 by Roomi7 | Posted in Other - Internet
When I did web hosting I found my Domain name in other company ?
- What is the different between them, why not both in one company?
- Do I have to know what company my domain are?
- and what Unlock ?
- Private/patrons?
- Auth code?
Thanks
Hi Roomi7,
Let me support your questions one by one.
- What is the difference between them, why not both in one company?
Web hosting is a service that offers you a web space to house your website, whereas domain name is hardly a locator to help people find your website. That's why you need to register a domain name in conjunction with a web hosting help.
For example, if you've registered a domain name say, XYZ.com, then by simply typing XYZ.com into my web browser, I will be able to get on your website.
Technically speaking, domain name is connected (or unmistakeable) to your website, so whenever people enter domain name into the browser, it'll bring them there.
Domain name and web hosting can both be either in the same company or different companies. Let me disclose with an example.
Company A
- domain registration $15
- web hosting $100
Company B
- domain registration $10
- web hosting $140
In such scenario, if you want to come to someone's rescue cost, you'll probably register your domain name with company B and buy web hosting with company A. But because your domain name and website will be hosted on diverse locations, you need to go to your company B's account and point your domain name to company A in order to "seize" your domain name with your web space.
Some people prefer to have both the domain name and website hosted with the same company to guide clear of domain pointing, although it's a very simple task to perform.
- Do I have to know what company my domain are?
Yes, you need to cognizant of to which company your domain name belongs so that you can do the necessary domain settings to suit your needs, or perform domain pointing if you were hosting your put with another company.
- and what Unlock?
In your domain control panel, you'll see a lock and unlock feature for your domain name. This is for collateral reason. There are horror cases where bad registrars unscrupulously transfer unlocked domain names to their own servers without the till consent of the domain owner and the original domain registrar. They can do this without having to access your domain account. That's why you must always clasp your domain name. Only when you need to transfer your domain name to another company then should you unlock it to allow the transfer. Once transfer is over, retain to lock it again.
- Private/public?
You can choose to keep your personal info especially your email speak from the public. That means whoever tries to find your personal info using the whois gimmick, they will only see your domain registrar's info rather than your own info. This is to protect you from spammers. Private registration costs you a few bucks more.
- Auth lex scripta 'statute law'?
This code will only issue to you by your domain registrar when you need to transfer your domain name to other domain or web hosting company.
Hope that helps. Cheers ;)

Domain Name: Maximizing Your Domain's Potential
by Finance
The number two why and wherefore is a miscalculation: webmasters often feel hyphenated domains will put their Web place's ranking in search engines. This is really abuse. Correct, because there was a convenience life when search engines looked at each chat in between hyphens as a keyword. A search motor optimization then be each keyword with the comfort of your site, conjoin it to the doubt of the owner performing the search, and then learn where your milieu should perform in its listings. Today, however, search engines are much smarter - they look at a Web site's gratify and small else. As a effect, hyphenated domain names no longer have any bias on search apparatus rankings. From a working point of view, provinces structure Top Equal Domains (ccTLDs) trade at most as well as any TLD. Therefore, more webmasters are choosing wilderness-personal to domains, as more safely a improved names are typically at one's disposal than when choosing a domain under the .com, .org or .net extensions. If all the domains readily obtainable for your placement are unusually dream of, or for a domain name registration can care for full functionality and regional branding, upon purchasing a ccTLD. Once you have configured your domain to time to your Web situation, you will miss to make safe that search engines are informed of it. If they aren't, your purlieus will take into one's possession very few visitors - even if you have managed to find a historic, crisp domain name. With a not enough bit of pains and a lot of submission, however, you can get a historic See trade low from search engines. At best because you buy a domain name registration mercenary you own it. While formal ownership is as a rule impertinent to the glib company man of most Web sites, it can be key in a authorized discord. When a aid provider (inveterately an ISP or Web have) registers a domain on your behalf as part of some larger incorporate (as a rule kindred to free of charge Web hosting), they will sometimes index themselves as the legitimate P of the domain, although they will present you use of it. This means that in the circumstance of an ownership provocation because of trademark reasons or otherwise, the settlement about whether or not to release ownership of the domain will after all is said reside in the hands of your ceremony provider rather than of you. In conclusion: because of their widespread availability and low evaluate, domain names can often be an "impulse" buy. Most domains bought on an impulse, however, are infrequently employed. As a consequence, over multiple discussion combinations and domain types before you buy - use a naming pawn if you are low on ideas. Muse over toilsome before selecting you're domain; after all, you will be stuck with it for at least a year.Outline: So you've registered what you believe is a cardinal domain name, and now you imagine it's wealthy to pay for itself a hundred times over, proper? Diabolical. No issue what domain name you may buy, it's not succeeding to pay for itself on its own. Maximizing a domain name's value takes expectation, creativity and stab - and it requires selecting a agreeable name in the first station.
