how to start domain registration and web hosting business?
Sep 07, 2008 by kkbindal | Posted in Small Business
I pauperism to start a domain registration and web hosting business.
Hi,
When looking into webhosting services for your website the first fixation to do is to assess your own personal needs as they pertain to those hosting services you'll want to consider. Grudging homepages will have vastly different web hosting criteria from the website of a large company for exemplification. It is also important to take into consideration anything you are planning on hosting in the near future as well and to take any potential growth into account so that you are not caught off tend by unexpected costs.
The next step in finding web hosting services for your needs is to compare the rates of opposite hosting companies. While many companies will offer temptingly low rates it's crucial to know how much the prices will propagate if your services and customer base expand.
Good technical support from your web hosting ensemble is also critical to success. The ability to solve any problems quickly with the least disruption reasonable is key to the growth of your website. The best technical support you can hope for from a web hosting company is an in blood 24 hours a day, seven days a week, phone & email, based in your well-informed in country service. It's also worth finding out if the technical support is free or comes with a foray. Also, make sure the hosting company clearly defines "consulting" versus "mechanical support" as technical support will most likely be free while consulting may have a assess tag.
You also need to know how fast your internet hosting company can provide access to anyone visiting your website. This is conclusively researchable, with the most obvious way being to visit other websites hosted by your potential web host, perhaps varying the values bright and early of day you visit the website and focussing on the times when you think your target audience will by your website. The best webhosting services will offer high levels of uptime which should be a swear to to motivate the company to keep servers up all the time, while providing impetus to act quickly if anything goes lapse.
I believe you can make a good choice after reading the reviews about web hosting at http://www.bestwebhostingchoice.com/

what is the different between web hosting & domain name registration?
Jun 25, 2009 by Roomi7 | Posted in Other - Internet
When I did web hosting I found my Domain name in out of the ordinary company ?
- What is the different between them, why not both in one company?
- Do I have to know what company my domain are?
- and what Unlock ?
- Private/followers?
- Auth code?
Thanks
Hi Roomi7,
Let me fit your questions one by one.
- What is the difference between them, why not both in one company?
Web hosting is a service that offers you a web space to house your website, whereas domain name is unprejudiced a locator to help people find your website. That's why you need to register a domain name in conjunction with a web hosting use.
For example, if you've registered a domain name say, XYZ.com, then by simply typing XYZ.com into my web browser, I will be able to get on your website.
Technically speaking, domain name is connected (or acute) to your website, so whenever people enter domain name into the browser, it'll bring them there.
Domain name and web hosting can both be either in the same company or different companies. Let me clarify with an example.
Company A
- domain registration $15
- web hosting $100
Company B
- domain registration $10
- web hosting $140
In such scenario, if you want to save cost, you'll presumably register your domain name with company B and buy web hosting with company A. But because your domain name and website will be hosted on different locations, you desideratum to go to your company B's account and point your domain name to company A in order to "attach" your domain name with your web organize.
Some people prefer to have both the domain name and website hosted with the same company to steer clear of domain pointing, although it's a very mere task to perform.
- Do I have to know what company my domain are?
Yes, you need to know to which company your domain name belongs so that you can do the important domain settings to suit your needs, or perform domain pointing if you were hosting your site with another company.
- and what Unlock?
In your domain pilot panel, you'll see a lock and unlock feature for your domain name. This is for security reason. There are horror cases where bad registrars unscrupulously transmittal unlocked domain names to their own servers without the prior consent of the domain owner and the original domain registrar. They can do this without having to access your domain account. That's why you must always stabilize b commit your domain name. Only when you need to transfer your domain name to another company then should you unlock it to allow the transfer. Once transfer is over, memorialize to lock it again.
- Private/public?
You can choose to keep your personal info especially your email lecture from the public. That means whoever tries to find your personal info using the whois gizmo, they will only see your domain registrar's info rather than your own info. This is to protect you from spammers. Private registration costs you a few bucks more.
- Auth principles?
This code will only issue to you by your domain registrar when you need to transfer your domain name to other domain or web hosting company.
Hope that helps. Cheers ;)
