What is the difference between web hosting, domains and such?
Apr 10, 2008 by Coach K | Posted in Computer Networking
I am a high-priced school coach who wants to be able to share information such as practice times, trade results, roster info, etc. What are the cheapest(free/no ad) ways to piece that information? I thought I wanted my own website. What about domain names?
To sign in your own domain name, something like www.coachk.com, you'd have to do that through a provider. You can't get that done free. I recommend 1and1, link below.
There are unencumbered options available, but your website will be something like coachk.someprovider.com.
There's a ton of host for that, but if you necessity one free, with no ads, I recommend X10 Hosting, link below.

I'm in the prepare of setting up my own online-based marketing company. I wish to offer the cheapest plausible domains and hosting; does anyone know what the best reseller plans for web hosting and domains are?
The maximum effort reseller plans are available at Webhostingbuzz.com (http://www.webhostingbuzz.com/idev/ideva ffiliate.php?id=325 ).
Depending on how much you constraint, the costs vary, from as low as $5/Month for 10 GB of space and 100 GB Deliver and 20 accounts, all the way to $55 a month for 200 GB space, 2000 GB Give, unlimited accounts and 20 free domains. A low to middle of the road plan can get you oodles of space and accounts for about 1/2 what other guys are charging.
If you need domains beyond what they offer, netfirms.com has $4.99 domains, but its $9.99 the sponsor year, and ipower.com has flat $6.50/year domains.
They have pretty fanatical substantiate, you can check their uptime on their servers here http://www.webhostingbuzz.com/web-hostin g-blog/

What business expense category do i use for web costs (hosting, domains, etc)?
Apr 25, 2009 by Dino T | Posted in Small Business
I'm worrisome to figure out what expense category I use from an accounting perspective when it comes to web costs such as concern registration, hosting, etc. My bank calls it "utilities", i've been using "other expenses" in quickbooks, which i don't like to do! Thanks!! (If anyone knows what listing to use for ordering checks from my bank, that would help too ;^) )
There are utilities -- you pay them every month for a utilitarian professional care.
