I comprehend how to buy a domain name but then i m being told to register to a web hosting site or watever. I can make my site on Front stage but how do i upload it and what is meant by web hosting?. Please guide me through this.

As a newbie and with so many web hosting services out there, I'm very confused. Can anyone share what I should look out for in a good web hosting service? I would like to incorporate an Eclipse program and forum / message board into the website in future, if possible. Can the web hosting fellowship guide me in uploading the content and do the necessary editing/additions in future? I am a total idiot when it comes to such things.
