I be in want of a web hosting provider for a new ecommerce web site I started. I might want a dedicated server or a reseller account, but shared might calling too. I'm starting up a new site that will feature some of my artwork and I want people to be able to buy posters.

Which UK Web Hosting provider is most qualified to host my Wordpress blog? I have tried 5 but I keep having downtime. I just call for to host my blog and eventually an online shop using Magento.

I've been hosting my location with Evohosting for years, and I really like them.

I've never had any issues with downtime with them, and their prices are at bottom good. You shouldn't have any problems using Wordpress or Magento with them, because you get them free when you set one's hand to up. You also get something like 60 other scripts for free, but I really like Magento and Wordpress.

So I guesstimate I'd have to recommend Evohosting. Just really good customer service, cut-price, no downtime issues, and lots of free stuff!

Can my web hosting provider view my files even though they are Htaccess protected ?

I was wondering if my web hosting provider (staff member) can view (read) files in my account that are Htaccess protected. I am hosting various websites under Linux. It is a business for me regarding sensitive documents. I know an alternative is to encrypt them. But was curious about unencrypted substantial. Can a Linux super user (administrator) read other users' files ?

Encrypting is not a good answer for web access, in fact well sensitive documents should never be publicly visible to the web. Better is to store sensitive non-spiritual in a database and use dynamic web page generation to view it. This can be controlled by the inbuilt database guarantee (set your own root password and a password for yourself as an administrator on mysql and even su can't read it).
