What's the difference between linux and windows 2003 hosting?

I vision I'd try building my own website but don't really have a clue what I am doing. I registered a domain name last shades of night (a .co.uk one) and the same site offers web hosting. As it's just a hobby at the moment I don't want to pay out too much expense so there's two £3.99 per month options. One with linux and one with windows 2003. What's the rest?
It depends on what you lack from your web site. The Linux server will be more secure for your site. If you want to connect to a database you will stress to learn a bit about MySQL (probably) and writing PHP web pages. The Windows server will be more prone to worms and malicious infect and you will need to learn MS SQL server and writing ASP web pages if you want to connect that to a database.
I embrace the Linux solution but others will tell you differently...

I have a server with clear-cut(fix) IP address I want to host 2 domain(website) on this server.Please tell me how?
You've got 3 options. If you require both sites to be accessed by different IP addresses, you will need to configure your network be unsecretive with the additional IP address aswell as the first and then create a second website in IIS and configure it to use this IP lecture only.
If you want to access both sites using the same IP address - you'll need to add an additional purlieus in IIS and configure host headers by adding the relevant domain names to each plot. Be aware that this method may not work for some clients.
Third option is to configure your different websites in IIS to use contrastive ports (e.g. port 80 and port 81).
