Im looking to buy a laptop and because im spending about a £1000 i fancy every last feature to be perfect im currently deciding between a SONY VGN-FW11M (£999) and a HP DV5-1010 (£799). The sony laptop has 256mb of dedicated graphics and the hp has 512mb of shared graphics so which one is punter ?

I don't recognize what the difference is between dedicated or shared video memory but what one is better for a computer with 4GB of memory?

What are you using this for? if you are universal to play games, use dedicated if you can afford it. If all you do is web, and word processing and stuff like that, shared is ok.
