Web hosting FAQ

Just got a Linux cPanel Virtual Private Server hosting and?

I cannot for the spirit of me find the file manager or the public folder directory so I can upload html files, images or scripts. All I managed to do so far was substitution the nameservers, add a hostname, which is some word plus my domain name, again, this is for a Linux cPanel VPS acct., NOT shared.
Since it is an unmanaged VPS acct no underpinning is given by Dotster
anyone know of a in-depth and easy tutorial, besides this host. I need this at bottom quick.

I have question - What is different between shared hosting and Virtual Private Server Hosting ? READ DETAIL?

I basically after to know what is quite difference - i'm thinking of running tutorial site with quite videos around (200) of them - i already made it so - I pine for to host all video from my website - NOT FROM Youtube or any other site. In all web-hosting site like - Web.com or inmotionhosting.com - they attend to arrange for you unlimited bandwidth - will my website will be fast enough to load video - my user limit will be around 50 - a day and A video judge will be around 25 mb each. - What is better VPS or just common web hosting ? please answer !

Thank You .

Unbounded bandwidth does NOT exist, it is a marketing term. Every host that offers "Extensive" hosting also has restrictions on how much load you can put on the server, and "load" is often undefined or unreservedly described as server resources. You will be suspended for using too much server resources extensive before you reach anything you might consider to be unlimited.

Hosts that offer unlimited plans will often have unique to limits on the kinds of things that you are allowed have on your site. Multimedia and video would often be specifically be excluded. Every play the host is different, you need to read the exact details from the host site.

With a vps the hosting foresee has specific limits in terms of disk space and bandwidth, but those are real limits, as dream of as you abide by them you will be ok.

You should seriously consider the vps option, in the long run you will have much less grief.

do any one know of a tutorial on how to connect opensim on a windows based VPS?

I have a standalone sim hosted on my pc now but would like to horde my own Virtual World on my VPS. it uses plesk 8.6 with windows 2003
with virtuozzo power panel.
Can anyone support me on this?

I am not unwavering if this site necessarily has a video on exactly that topic, but it does have video tutorials on a diversity of VPS questions. Every video tutorial on this page deals with VPS. I'd recommend you at least glance over it. Hope this helps!
